Firefox — step by step
Download the .xpi. It is signed by Mozilla, so Firefox offers to install it rather than refusing it.
Firefox asks to add it. Click Add. If nothing happens, drag the file onto a Firefox window.
Updates arrive on their own. Firefox checks daily and installs new versions without you doing anything.
Scroll anything. The meter appears bottom-right and starts counting.
Chrome, Edge, Brave — step by step
Download the .zip and unpack it somewhere you will keep it — Chrome loads the folder from disk, so moving or deleting it uninstalls the extension.
Open chrome://extensions and turn on Developer mode, top right.
Click Load unpacked and pick the folder you unpacked.
Scroll anything. The meter appears bottom-right and starts counting.
Chrome does not auto-update a folder loaded this way. Grab a fresh zip when you want the newest version.
